So do you really need lead guitar lessons? The answer could be different for each of us, and some may even think they don't need lead guitar lessons when in fact they do.
Lead guitar lessons are an extremely important part of any rock guitarists skills, yet many rock guitar players completely neglect this fact, prefering to go it alone. This is fair enough insome cases, I mean let's face it, some rock tunes involve about three chords that your gran could easily pickup in 5 minutes.
If you want to go far with your guitar playing, you should really consider taking lead guitar lessons from a reputable teacher or other means though. If nothing else, it will help you interact and integrate with other band members if you get that far.
Check out the rest of this site by doing a quick search for the very best in info and articles on lead guitar lessons plus you can learn other similar instruments such as the bass guitar or drums. If you were to take lead guitar lessons at say, your local music store, the guy that is teaching you is sometimes only there to pick up a few dollars here and there so please be careful.

For some people speed is everything and the fastest guitar player on the planet (apparantly) Michael Batio gives lead guitar lessons based upon the speed of technical playing. On the off chance you can't get hold of him, I'm sure there are others who'll be able to teach you the art of playing a guitar really really fast, and hopefully nice and cleanly too. It's all very well playing guitar really fast, but you don't want to hear too many 'bum' notes do you?
I'd say that if you're just starting out with your guitar and you're after some lead guitar lessons, there's nowhere better than the wealth of, often free, information out there on the Internet. Start learning to play along with your favourite bands - I started learning by playing along to Rage Against The Machine's first album, and that's some pretty tricky stuff for a beginner (I didn't have the money for proper lead guitar lessons).
Once you start getting a bit more advanced it might be worth enlisting the help of a human tutor to make sure you haven't picked up too many bad habits along the way.
Bottom line is - enjoy playing your guitar, if lessons start dragging you down and it starts becoming a bit of a chore you are not doing it right. At the end of the day if you can learn a few tunes and have some fun while doing it then you're on to a winner.
